2011 has been a very successful year for COSIS.net. The network has been growing steadily and we have started several new projects and collaborations. We have welcomed thousands of new members.

New communities
While continuing our collaboration with professional publishers, we are about to link with a network of authors and publishers in the urban planning, architecture, and sustainable building community.
This will be the first of a series of similar communities under the umbrella of COSIS.net, linking scientific authors and publishers with obvious advantages to both.
Please send us your suggestions if you have an idea for setting up a community like this in your own field, or in combination with other fields.

Geotagging your publications
At the Frankfurt Book Fair, 14 October, we presented a geotag map of Iceland, showing more than 200 geotagged publications from the Earth, physical, medical and engineering sciences, as well as from the arts and humanities. We demonstrated that geotagging publications is a very powerful research tool to quickly find the relevant literature in a certain location and contact the authors. It is also an attractive way to advertise your own work. We offer you the option to embed your personal geotag map into your website or blog. See your profile page at COSIS.net.
If you have not done so yet, we suggest you to spend some time during the holiday adding and geotagging your publications, as well as updating your personal and professional data.
